Academics
The Greenwood School maintains the highest standards of practice in educating students who learn differently. The school is fully accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools.
Curriculum
Greenwood aims to maximize the potential of each student in the basic academic areas. The comprehensive curriculum is designed to develop ultimate proficiency in the core subject areas as well as art, drama, music, computer literacy, and physical education. Multi-sensory techniques and experiential learning opportunities offer students a better chance to succeed.
Graduation Requirements
High school students are required to earn 24 credits in grades 9-12. All students are required to take a course load of seven courses each semester. Eligible students may take dual enrollment courses at the local colleges in their junior or senior year for high school and college credit.
Extra-curricular Activities
Greenwood sponsors participation in Safety Patrols, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society National Honor Society, Drama Club, Art Club, and Science Clubs. Interscholastic athletics are offered in flag football, basketball, soccer, and bowling. Intra-mural athletics are offered in volleyball and extreme frizbee. There is also an active cheerleading squad.
Appearance Code
The appearance code is designed to teach the importance of a good appearance in the workplace as well as to project an impressive image to the community. Greenwood School students are required to wear uniforms.
